~Backstory~
Born into the city's underworld, Rodger was the son of an infamous crime lord and a random woman the man picked up for a night. After his birth, Rodger's mother returned and demanded that the man either take them in or compensate her for raising his son. She died that day, but his father did like the idea of having an heir.

Rodger was mostly raised by nannies and home schooled. At first he was kept out of his father's affairs, but still got introduced into the crime world at a quite early age. His father wanted to make sure Rodger would have what it takes to lead the organization one day, so at the age of 11 he already attended meetings with his father and at 14 he could handle a gun better than most of the goons.

At 16 he took over the organization by shooting his father. Rodger had been a quiet and obedient kid, but he was intelligent and observant too, he saw flaws in the organization's system, flaws caused by horrendous leadership. He saw the organization falling apart in the last few years, caused by his father's carelessness and self interest. So when he found out that his father had made plans to desert and go into hiding, he decided it was finally time to take his rightful place as leader.

Of course the transition wasn't smooth, no one wanted a 16 year old brat as their leader. So he had to make sure no one would underestimate him. Many died that day, he mercilessly executed anyone who would stand in his way, those who remained however have found themselves with a leader who would bring them a new age of prosperity. Rodger was an ace in eliminating enemies and finding new and unexpected allies, the organization soon grew in wealth and power. As well as catching the attention of the other crime lords, but after a few failed assassinations even they had to admit there was more to the boy than his age might imply.

His influence continued to grow over the years, eventually making him one of the most influential crime lords in the city, as well as becoming one of the rulers of its underworld. The criminals couldn't get to him, he was too well guarded, and the cops couldn't prove anything his organization did, he was way too careful and strict in his ways. He was untouchable, a force to be reckoned with.

On his 40th birthday he attended a party at the city's most prestigious escort service. There he met a man who would shake the world he's so meticulously built up.




-Neil-
Neil is an escort Rodger met and hired on his 40th birthday. Their relationship at first was all business and pretending, enjoying each other's company while playing the roles of what looked like a charming couple. However the more time they spent with each other the more of their true nature came to light, and bit by bit they dropped the act. Rodger can honestly say that he despises Neil, his fearlessness, his pride, his manipulative nature, the way he is the only person who is not intimidated by Rodger and even challenges him. Rodger's nature demands he destroy that insolent man, yet the things he hates are also those he doesn't want to let go of. For it is nice to have someone he could call a worthy opponent, someone who doesn't shy away and stands just as proud as him. It is a conundrum and his paradoxical feelings infuriate him even more.

A couple years after their first meeting the two got into a horrible fight. Neil made the mistake of saying something he really shouldn't have, that he knew enough about Rodger's organization to ruin him if he wanted to, thus Rodger shot him, driven by his need to make sure there's nothing that could endanger his organization. Yet thanks to his complicated feelings for the obnoxious blonde, Rodger had hesitated and subconsciously tilted the gun just enough to not hit any vitals. Thus Neil was the first person to survive being shot by Rodger. Afterwards Rodger spent the next few months looking for Neil who had disappeared and went into hiding after the incident. But eventually they met again.

So here they are now, stuck together by their own nature and the things they've been through. Equally seeking to destroy each other as they wish to keep the other close. It's not love though, neither of them is capable of that, nor would they want it.

Notes:
- Always keeps his gun close, even has it under his pillow when he sleeps.
- Will not hesitate to eliminate anyone within the organization who has proven to be useless or harmful, no matter how long they've been loyal to him.
- Doesn't really have friends.
- Usually always wears suits or anything business like, his life revolves around his work after all.
- Has a golden classical wristwatch, preferring that over digital ones. It's also the only piece of "jewelry" he wears.
- Is rather modest when it comes to spending money for anything personal, at least compared to the amount of funds he has.
- He judges people entirely on their usefulness and skill. Gender, heritage and other such things don't matter to him.
- The Steel Kid is an old nickname/title he got from the older crime lords back when he first took over the organization, they still consider him a "kid" compared to the rest of them but they know not to seek a fight with him.
- Doesn't mind getting his hands dirty to get the job done.
- Is registered as Jerkass3 in Neil's phone contacts.
- His way of apologizing to Neil is by buying flowers and then weaving them into Neil's hair. Rodger never explained though why he does it that specific way.
- Neil and Rodger don't really know what to call each other, the terms "boyfriend" or even "partner" just not sitting quite right. They also have a semi-open relationship and tend to see other people from time to time.


((This profile follows the "Life goes on" AU of my story which is set on a different planet than Earth although it keeps some similarities. In the true storyline Rodger doesn't hesitate during the argument and Neil dies. But I just like them too much as a couple so I had to give them some universe where they can continue their messed up relationship.))
